Dre Erin Watson – Choisir et suivre un programme de résidence en médecine dentaire à Toronto
Erin Watson, BSc, DMD, received her Baccalaureate Degree from McGill University and her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Faculty of Dentistry at McGill University where she graduated with the Gold Medal. She completed a one-year Hospital-Based Dental Residency program at Mount Sinai Hospital In Toronto, Ontario.
Dr. Watson is a General Dentist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre where she is appointed as Deputy Chief of Dentistry, Clinical-Investigator and Instructor. Her practice is limited to treatment of Cancer Patients.
Dr. Watson has a special research interest in dental care for patients with Acute Leukemia and the inequities in dental care experienced by Cancer patients. She is a regular contributor to the Canadian Dental Association’s online journal and CDA Oasis Discussions. She provides continuing education lectures on the topic of dental care for cancer patients to: dental study clubs; the University of Toronto, where she holds an appointment as an Associate in Dentistry; and McGill University, as a guest lecturer.
Dr. Watson sits on the University Health Network Medical Advisory Committee, the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Young Leaders Advisory Board, Cancer Education Advisory Committee and Patient Experience Committee. Furthermore, she is an executive member of the Canadian Association of Hospital Dentists.
Dr François Proulx – Suivre un programme de résidence à Montréal
Coming from a small francophone community in Northern Ontario named Hearst, Dr. Proulx up hunting, fishing and enjoying life in its simplest way. A decade ago, he decided to move on with his studies and started a nursing degree at the University of Ottawa. Then, he pursued and completed studies in Montreal where he graduated as a dentist from the Université de Montréal.
Dr. Proulx wanted to pursue a general practice residency at the Jewish General Hospital which helped him to become a well-rounded dental professional. Passionate of thrill-seeking adventures and experiences, he always seeks out the best in each situation. It was first evidenced during the first year of his dental studies where he became the president of his class. He then became the dental student association representative during his last year of dental studies. He conducted humanitarian work overseas in Fiji Island and Chiapas Mexico. Last year, he fulfilled a dream: he completed an Ironman, an extreme triathlon in Mont-Tremblant, QC. As for his professional desire, Dr. Proulx strives to become an oral surgeon.
Dr Dany Antony – Suivre un programme de résidence à Halifax
Dr. Antony is from beautiful Kerala, India, where he completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in 2011. He decided to further his education at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and completed another Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2017. He went on and completed a one year General Practice Residency at Dalhousie University before joining Dental Service Group in 2018.
Dr Tom Steeves – Suivre un programme de résidence à Halifax
Dr. Steeves (“Tom”) is originally from Juniper, NB, but has been a Haligonian since 2013. He completed a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry with honours in 2013 at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, NB. He then moved to Halifax to complete his DDS in 2017 at Dalhousie University.
Following his DDS, he completed a general practice residency in 2018 at Dalhousie, where he gained advanced training in general dentistry with an emphasis on surgery, hospital dentistry, medically compromised patients, medical emergencies, sedation, dental prosthetics, and public health.
When not wearing his dentist cap he enjoys spending time with his partner Gina, family, and friends. He is also secretly a rockstar and has been playing lead guitar for bands for over a decade!
Dre Emma van de Wetering – Suivre un programme de résidence à Montréal
Dr. Emma van de Wetering is a general dentist. Originally, from the east coast of Canada where she studied Environmental Science and Biochemistry at Mount Allison University, she pursued her postgraduate studies in Montreal, receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine at McGill University in 2018. With the goal of achieving more advanced training, Dr. van de Wetering spent a year as a resident dentist at the Montreal General Hospital, rotating through clinics in orofacial pain, oral surgery, head and neck oncology, oral pathology, anesthesiology and special care dentistry. She began in private practice in Aug 2019 in Montreal.
